Citizen scientists say they’re determined to protect Concord’s White Pond | Wicked Local – Concord Journal | July 11, 2016
The citizens of Concord, New Hampshire came out to White Pond this summer to demonstrate some of the tools and procedures used in the new Northeast Cyanobacteria Monitoring Program. Citizen scientist, Kate Blair, is highlighted in this article, instructed by EPA’s Hilary Snook. Water samples were gathered and prepared for viewing under a microscope to detect cyanobacteria, the potentially toxic organisms that caused closings of the beach at White Pond.
